Step back in time at this world-renowned museum of archaeology and anthropology. Three gallery floors feature amazing art and artifacts from ancient Egypt (including mummies), the Bible Lands, the Greek and Roman Worlds, Asia, and North America. A new suite of Middle East Galleries features 10,000 years of human history and treasures from the royal tombs at Ur, 2550 BCE. Special exhibitions include The Artifact Lab: Conservation in Action, Cultures in the Crossfire: Stories from Syria and Iraq, Moundbuilders: Ancient Architects of North America, and Bearing Witness: Four Days in West Kingston. Founded in 1887, the Penn Museum is housed in a grand Arts and Crafts and Eclectic-style building, with outdoor gardens, fountains, and a koi pond.
